Week 11 DraftKings, FanDuel Picks: Sleepers, advice, strategy for NFL DFS contests

Written By Bennett Bedford

I mentioned in my stacking article that Week 11 is one of the uglier slates of the season. We don’t have the Rams or Chiefs offenses to load up on, and there are only three games with totals of 50-points or higher. However, this may be the best week of the year in terms of running back options, with seven players priced $7,000 or higher on DraftKings that make for excellent plays. I personally want to jam at least two of those high end running backs into my cash game lineup, which means we are going to need to find some value at the WR and FLEX spots. The quarterback position is also interesting this week, especially over on DraftKings where you can argue that every quarterback on the slate in underpriced.

As always, it's important to remember that when looking for value plays, it's often wise to approach things like a cash game. You don’t need to overdo the value plays in GPP tournaments if you look to vary your lineup at other positions. RotoQL's Trending Players Tool can help you quickly find the best value plays in a given week.

NFL DFS Picks Week 11: QB sleepers, values

QB Deshaun Watson, Texans @ Redskins, DK: $5,700, FD: $7,800

The quarterback position has plenty of value for us to exploit this week. You can look all the way up to the top with Drew Brees, who has an excellent matchup at home against the Philadelphia Eagles in a game that has the highest total on the slate at 55-points. You could even argue that Brees is underpriced at $6,500 on DraftKings given that he has posted three games with over 30 fantasy points at home this season. But with that in mind, the best overall value at the position has to be Texans QB Deshaun Watson, who heads out of his bye week to face the Washington Redskins. The Texans-Redskins matchup has one of the lower totals on the slate at only 42.5 points, but I think that number is too low given how soft the Washington defense has looked the last two weeks against the Falcons and Buccaneers. Watson has been excellent when playing as a favorite this season, posting a plus/minus of plus-6.5 in six games and has seen his price drop below $6,000 on DraftKings for only the second time this season, the other coming against the Jaguars in Week 7.

Other QB Values: Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson (if Joe Flacco is out)

Week 11 DraftKings, FanDuel Picks: RB sleepers, values

RB Dion Lewis, Titans @ Colts, DK: $4,800, FD: $5,900

Last week, Dion Lewis was my favorite running back value of the week and while he could be seen as disappointment given his 8.8 fantasy point output, the elite level of volume was there for Lewis as he touched the ball over 18 times for the third straight game and only failed to meet value due to Derrick Henry getting the two goal line touchdowns. I have absolutely zero reservations about going right back to Lewis this week in an even better matchup against the Cots who rank 22nd in DvP against opposing running backs, and in a game that has one of the higher totals on the slate at 48.5 points. You aren’t going to find another running back on the slate in this price range who has a higher touch upside than Lewis does, and he is due for some positive touchdown regression as the clearly superior option to the lumbering Henry.

Other RB Values: Mark Ingram, Alex Collins

FanDuel, DraftKings Picks Week 11: WR sleepers, values

WR Amari Cooper, Cowboys @ Falcons, DK: $5,400, FD: $6,600

This is a week where the masses will look to spend up on one or two of the many high end running back options, which means we will need to find some mid-range value at the wide receiver position. The guy who I’m looking at to accomplish that value need this week is the Cowboys' shiny new toy Amari Cooper, who has flashed some nice play making ability in his time in Dallas. It’s clear through two games with Dallas that Cooper was limited during his time with Raiders by QB Derek Carr and the play calling of HC Jon Gruden. Cooper has seen 18 targets in two outings with Dallas and it’s clear that the Cowboys want to make him a focal part of an offense that badly needed a playmaker on the outside. The matchup for Cooper couldn’t be much better, as he faces an Atlanta defense that is allowing the third most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. His $5,400 price point on DraftKings and $6,600 on FanDuel is too cheap for a guy who should see between 8-12 targets against a soft defense in a game that has one of the highest totals on the slate at 48.5 points.

WR DeSean Jackson, Buccaneers @ Giants, DK: $5,000, FD: $6,300

While Amari Cooper makes sense in cash games, for tournaments, I’ll be looking at Bucs deep threat WR DeSean Jackson. What I like most about Jackson, is he is really the only WR in the $5,000 and under range that has the potential to go 4-5x on his salary expectations. Jackson has seen a dip in production over the last few weeks after starting the year red-hot, but the volume has still been there for D-Jax as he has seen eight or more targets in four of the last six weeks. Jackson has also been excellent on the road this season, posting a plus/minus of plus-5.8 in five road games this season, and he should feast on a matchup against the Giants CB B.W. Webb, who is one of the worst individual cover cornerbacks in the league.

Other WR Values: Keenan Allen, Josh Doctson

WEEK 11 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiverTight end

Week 11 NFL DFS Picks: TE sleepers, values

TE Jordan Reed, Redskins vs. Texans, DK: $3,800, FD: $5,400

The tight end position is incredibly thin this week unless you want to spend all the way up to Zach Ertz. One player who is standing out at the position is Redskins pass catching TE Jordan Reed, who has been Washington’s most consistent receiver this season. Reed doesn’t have the slate-breaking upside that he had with Kirk Cousins at quarterback, but is still seeing more than enough volume to pay off his reasonable $3,800 DK salary and $5,400 FD salary. Reed has by far the best matchup among Washington skill position players against a Texans defense that ranks 20th DvP against tight ends. Reed offers a safe floor of at least five or six targets and will smash his salary expectations if he is able to get into the end zone for the first time since Week 1.

Other TE Values: C.J. Uzomah, Ricky Seals-Jones
