The 2020 NBA Slam Dunk Contest featured several 50s and a controversial ending.

Finalists Aaron Gordon and Derrick Jones Jr. went back and forth through two rounds Saturday night, and matching scores forced the leapers into a dunk-off. Jones scored a 48 with high-flying windmill on his second overtime attempt, and Gordon answered with a rim-rocking jam over Celtics center Tacko Fall.

Unfortunately for Gordon, the judges awarded him a 47, and the United Center crowd loudly voiced its displeasure with Jones' victory. Gordon had scored only 50s up to that point, but he walked away from another Slam Dunk Contest as a runner-up.

NBA Slam Dunk Contest 2020 updates, highlights

(All times Eastern)

10:35 p.m. — OK, Aaron Gordon got robbed. The man jumped over Tacko Fall and somehow lost to Derrick Jones Jr. by one point.

A controversial 48-47 ending, but Jones is the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest champion.

10:27 p.m. — Another round, please. Two more 50s for Jones and Gordon.

10:24 p.m. — This is incredible. Aaron Gordon electrifies the crowd and sends it to overtime. Let this go on forever.

10:22 p.m. — OH MY. You already know the score. Derrick Jones Jr. is putting on a show.

10:20 p.m. — You get a 50! And you get a 50! Aaron Gordon doesn't know how to do anything else.

10:15 p.m. — Derrick Jones Jr. sets a high bar by going through the legs over two people. Easy 50.

10:13 p.m. — Another 50 for Aaron Gordon. Three nasty dunks in a row, but Pat Connaughton is eliminated. Bummer.

It's Gordon vs. Jones in the final round.

10:10 p.m. — OK, Derrick Jones Jr. is a master of the dark arts. That's the only way to explain this.

10:07 p.m. — Wow. Pat Connaughton, you deserve that 50. A jump over Giannis Antetokounmpo and a tap on the backboard? Ridiculous.

10:05 p.m. — And we have a Superman sighting. Dwight Howard brings the cape back out, but he falls one point short of a perfect score. Chadwick Boseman awarded the only nine.

10 p.m. — There's a 50. Aaron Gordon is coming for the title.

9:55 p.m. — First-timer Pat Connaughton goes full "White Men Can't Jump" on his way to a 45. Brewers star Christian Yelich earns the assist.

9:50 p.m. — Derrick Jones Jr. celebrates his birthday, then leaps for a 46. That was clean.

9:45 p.m. — And here we go. Lakers center Dwight Howard throws down his second attempt but doesn't get much of a reaction from the crowd. Only a 41 from the judges.

9:30 p.m. — Buddy Hield wins the 3-point Contest on his final money ball. That was fun. The Slam Dunk Contest is coming up next.

9:15 p.m. — A throwback to get you mentally prepared. Just some classic Michael Jordan.

8:50 p.m. — Could we see a Heat sweep? One competition down, two to go.

8:30 p.m. — As for the first Saturday night event, Heat star Bam Adebayo walks away with the Skills Challenge trophy.

8:15 p.m. — Time to place your bets, folks. Who ya got?
