Longtime "NBA 2K" brand ambassador Ronnie 2K, who provides the public voice for the video game and is currently its digital marketing director, made a serious misstep on Tuesday in insulting NBA center DeMarcus Cousins in a live stream. He didn't realize his phone call conversation with an apparent colleague was happening with the camera still rolling, leading to the candid words.
Ronnie 2K — given name Ronnie Singh — called Cousins "such a d—," and questioned his commitment to the upcoming "NBA 2K20" players-only tournament, which begins on Friday and has Cousins competing as a No. 11 seed.
Cousins later responded via Twitter with a GIF acknowledging the situation. Singh apologized, blaming work stress for his mistake.

Bro in a moment of work stress, I said something super dumb that wasn’t at all how I feel about you. My bad & I sincerely apologize. Let’s have some fun starting this weekend, bring the action and see if you can be crowned champ— Ronnie 2K 2K20 (@Ronnie2K) April 1, 2020
As the face of a popular sports video game, Singh has been the subject of much hate from the "NBA 2K" community over the past few years. People with complaints about the game often target him.
When the stream picked up attention, social media was quick to poke fun. Here are some of the top reactions:
