Jason Mercier inches closer to top of GPI World Poker Rankings

American poker star Dan Smith (GPI No. 1) makes it 10 straight weeks standing at the top of the GPI World Poker Rankings. The 2012 Poker Player of the Year also maintains his lead atop the 2014 Player of the Year race as the Global Poker Index released its latest rankings on Wednesday.

Former World #1 Jason Mercier (GPI No. 2) continues his climb up the ranks again, now just one position away from returning to #1 for the first time since September of last year. Mercier has spent the most amount of weeks atop the GPI World Poker Rankings.

In other rankings news: World Series of Poker Player of the Year runner-up Brandon Shack-Harris (GPI No. 298) makes his debut in the GPI Top 300 while 2013 GPI Player of the Year Ole Schemion (GPI No. 4) fell out of the Top 3 for the very first time in 2014.
