Wells Fargo Championship not fast enough deleting insensitive Cinco de Mayo tweet

The PGA Tour’s Wells Fargo Championship posted on Twitter and Instagram on Thursday a photo of tournament attendees wearing fake mustaches and sombreros next to a cutout of Phil Mickelson as they celebrated Cinco de Mayo.

The tweet was posted at 11:16 a.m. ET and deleted after 2 p.m. ET, not nearly fast enough in Internet time. The Twitterverse had already started lobbing accusations of racism, and The Charlotte Observer got this screenshot:
