There were concerns Tim Duncan would walk off into the sunset after winning the NBA Finals in his 17th NBA season, but that could have been dispelled on Monday.

Duncan is expected to opt into the final year of his contract and revisit the future with the Spurs after the 2014-15 season, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

The Spurs will pay Duncan $10.3 million for the season, which will give the Spurs another run with the Big Three of Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. It will also keep Duncan and Gregg Popovich together for another season.
