The Cleveland Cavaliers coaching staff is starting to take form, with David Blatt in as head coach and now Tyronn Lue is in at the associate head coach position, Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reported.

Lue was the runner-up to Blatt, and Cavaliers general manager David Griffin was so impressed that he wanted to bring Lue in as an assistant.

Griffin paid Lue well to poach him from the Los Angeles Clippers, Wojnarowski reports. Lue reached out to Clippers coach Doc Rivers — who has now lost three assistants — to receive his blessing before accepting the job.

Lue spent five seasons with Rivers as an assistant with the Celtics and Clippers. Prior to his coaching career, Lue, 37, played 11 NBA seasons for seven teams.
