All-Big Ten: Jones, Elliott among six Buckeyes

The offseason's most-talked about league will finally be put to an on-field test. With most of Big Ten's hype surrounding its coaches, Cardale Jones, Ezekiel Elliott, Shilique Calhoun and DaeSean Hamilton will be out to prove they're worthy as well.
  • QB: Cardale Jones, Jr., Ohio State

RB: Ezekiel Elliott, Jr., Ohio State

    RB: Corey Clement, Jr., Wisconsin

You could really plug in any of Ohio State's three quarterbackson the first team. We went with Jones to emerge ahead of J.T. Barrett and Braxton Miller, but whoever is taking the majority of the snaps in Urban Meyer's loaded offense this year deserves top billing.

  • WR: DaeSean Hamiltn, So., Penn State

    WR: Leonte Carroo, Sr., Rutgers

    TE: Jake Butt, Jr., Michigan

Hamilton burst onto the scene as a freshman, piling up 686 yards in his first seven games. He cooled off toward the end of the season, but he still finished with 82 catches for 899 yards and two touchdowns. With Christian Hackenberg throwing him the ball, we expect his yardage and touchdown numbers to go up this season.

  • OL: Dan Voltz, Jr., Wisconsin

OL: Jack Allen, Sr., Michigan State

OL: Jack Conklin, Jr., Michigan State

    OL: Josh Campion, Jr., Minnesota

OL: Taylor Decker, Sr., Ohio State

Allen earned All-America honors at center last season, and Conklin will contend with Decker tobe the best offensivetackle in the Big Ten this year. If both perform up to expectations, itcan only mean good things for Connor Cook and the Spartans.

  • DL: Joey Bosa, Jr., Ohio State

DL: Adolphus Washington, Sr., Ohio State

    DL: Maliek Collins, Jr., Nebraska

DL: Shilique Calhoun, Sr., Michigan State

It seems like Calhoun should have run eligibility by now after tormenting the Big Ten for years. Over the past two years, Calhoun had racked up 29.5 tackles for loss and 15.5 sacks, as well as three defensive touchdowns. Don't worry, fans over the Big Ten East, this is his last year, we promise.

  • LB: Mason Monheim, Sr., Illinois

LB: Darron Lee, So., Ohio State

LB: Ed Davis, Sr., Michigan State

Coming off a season in which he tallied 111 total tackles and forced four fumbles, Monheim gets a well-deservedAll-Big Ten nod. Illinois' run defense was nonetheless atrocious in 2014, but behindMonheim, things could be looking up, even if onlyslightly, this season.

  • DB: Briean Boddy-Calhoun, Jr., Minnesota

    DB: William Likely, Jr.,Maryland

    DB: Michael Caputo, Sr., Wisconsin

DB: Vonn Bell, Jr., Ohio State

Let's address the elephant in the room: Yes, we are saying that Will Likely will likely have another standoutseason at Maryland. And there's good reason to believe it. Likely had six picks and two touchdowns last year. Corners do have a tendency to produce less as quarterbacks learn to avoid him, and Likely could fall victim to a statistical drop-off as a result. But if it means teams aren't targetting their top receiver, Maryland will take it every time.

  • K: Brad Craddock, Sr., Maryland

    P: Peter Mortell, Jr., Minnesota

Craddock hit 18 of 19 field goals last year, good enough to earn him the Lou Groza award as the nation's best placekicker. The Terrapins will have no problem putting a game on his foot.

  • Ezekiel Elliott, RB,So., Ohio State

This is admittedly a cop-out because whoever starts at quarterback for the Buckeyes will perhaps have the inside track on the Heisman Trophy. More than one quarterback could play, however, and Elliott was the most valuable player through Ohio State's national championship run. He'll be a constant source of production for the Buckeyes.
