Alabama will enter the College Football Playoff with a perfect 11-0 record after knocking off Florida in the SEC championship game Saturday night 52-46.
Coach Nick Saban's team was ruthless on offense against the Gators, amassing 605 total yards behind the Heisman-contending trio of Mac Jones (five touchdown passes), DeVante Smith (15 catches for 184 yards and two touchdowns) and Najee Harris (five total touchdowns). Saban's defense was less sturdy at times, allowing Florida to hang around in the second half, but did enough to secure the result.
Florida quarterback Kyle Trask was sacked as he tried to lead an improbable comeback in the final seconds. The Gators didn't have any timeouts left, and the clock expired.
