Did you take the Sporting News quiz earlier this week about whether bowl games were real, fake or defunct?

This one didn’t make the exam: The Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl is real, folks.

BitPay and ESPN Events made the announcement Wednesday that a sponsorship deal is in place for the game to be played in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Dec. 26, through at least 2016.

The game, of course, will be televised by ESPN.

The bowl game, formerly known as the Beef O’Brady’s Bowl, matches a team from the ACC and one from the AAC.
