Central Michigan has dismissed defensive back Brandon Greer after he was arrested on several serious charges.

CMU dismissed Greer from its football program on Friday, just one day after he was charged with assault, attempted unlawful imprisonment and assault with intent to commit sexual penetration.

Greer was arrested after a woman posted on Facebook that she was almost abducted on Wednesday night, according to The Morning Sun

"We take all criminal misconduct very seriously and felt this case warranted immediate dismissal from our program,” CMU AD Dave Heeke said in a statement.

The 21-year-old led CMU with three interceptions last season.
