Florida State running back Dalvin Cook received a citation from Tallahassee's Animal Control in July 2014 for chaining three puppies together and leaving the two smaller ones struggling to breathe, Sports Illustrated's Andy Staples first reported Sunday

Last Friday, the Seminoles indefinitely suspended Cook after he was charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly punching a woman in the face.

According to the citation report, the dogs were "tethered directly around the neck by a heavy chain" and were removed by Animal Control from the location. The report also stated Cook did not provide shelter for the animals, and it had been raining.
