Former Auburn safety Derrick Moncrief will apparently transfer to Oklahoma State.
While Oklahoma State did not confirm the transfer to AL.com, Moncrief all-but announced his decison Friday with an Instagram post.
Moncrief, who was granted his release from Auburn on May 15, has enrolled at Oklahoma State, according to school records. The 6-2, 221-pound Prattville, Ala., native will have to sit out the 2015 season because of transfer rules.
A transfer to Auburn in January, 2014 from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Moncrief played in 13 games, with one start, for the Tigers last season. He recorded 27 tackles, with a forced fumble and a pass breakup. Moncrief was banned from transferring to schools on Auburn's schedule the next two seasons and told Alabama media that he was also banned from transferring to Michigan, although a source at Auburn told AL.com that was not the case.
Moncrief is the fifth defensive back to transfer out of the program since former Florida head coach Will Muschamp was hired as the new defensive coordinator in December.
