No. 13 USC looks to keep its College Football Playoff aspirations alive as Oregon comes to town in what has been a chaotic process leading to the Pac-12 Championship.

The Trojans (5-0) have the same record as No. 4 Ohio State, yet sit nine spots out of the Playoff, while the Buckeyes happily await their Playoff destiny. The road to the Playoff was already made difficult by the Pac-12's decision to not start until Nov. 7, but the Trojans have faced added challenges in the last few days. Not only will USC be playing on a short week, but it's playing an Oregon program fresh off a bye, and the Trojans had initially planned to play Washington before the Huskies pulled out with COVID-19 issues.

While the challenge is hard, USC may have the first quarterback selected in the 2022 NFL Draft on its roster in Kedon Slovis. Slovis leads the league in completion percentage (70.3), passing yards (1,601) and passing touchdowns (16). He's in a neck-in-neck race with Oregon's Tyler Shough who leads the conference in yards per attempt (10.7).

The Ducks (3-2) received the late nod to the title game after finishing tied with Stanford for second in the Pac-12 North. Oregon owns a head-to-head tiebreaker with the Cardinal. Despite losing two straight to Oregon State and California, the Ducks are maybe the only team in the Pac-12 that matches up well with the Trojans in terms of roster talent.

This will only be the 10th ever Pac-12 Championship Game. Oregon has never lost in the game (3-0) and is the defending champion, while USC hasn't appeared in the game since 2017 when the Trojans defeated Stanford.
