If you thought that turning to Ed Sheeran to headline NFL's Kickoff 2021 concert was the only weird music choice the NFL would make in 2021, think again.

The league turned to a song by Adele to advertise what is arguably its biggest regular-season game of the year.

NFL POWER RANKINGS: Rams on the rise after win over Bucs

NBC debuted a commercial previewing the Week 4 "Sunday Night Football" matchup between Tom Brady's Buccaneers and Bill Belichick's Patriots. And the choice for background music in the ad? It was "Hello" by Adele.

That has to be the most emotional pregame advertisement in NFL history, right? Naturally, it drew mixed reactions from the Twitterverse.

IYER: What's going wrong for these struggling 2020 playoff teams?

Some loved the way that the network presented the upcoming matchup while others found it entirely laughable. There were also a handful that didn't know what to make of the commercial.

Maybe this commercial is a bit melodramatic, but there's no denying that there will be some real on-field drama in this game. No matter what Brady and Belichick say about the game, it matters. Both men are big-time competitors and will want to beat the other after a rocky finish to their tenure together with the Patriots.

Both are also coming off losses and sit in second place in their respective divisions. That will add some extra motivation to the fold.

Regardless of what happens, New England fans will be reminded of one thing as they watch their former star quarterback take the field against them.

Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead.
