Carson Wentz's status is uncertain ahead of the Colts' Week 3 game vs. the Titans, according to a Monday update from coach Frank Reich.

Reich told reporters that Wentz suffered two ankle sprains in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Rams, which dropped Indianapolis to 0-2 on the season. Reports suggest Wentz suffered a left ankle sprain early in the game, while a right ankle sprain knocked him out in the fourth quarter.

When asked whether Wentz would be able to play Sunday vs. Tennessee, Reich said he needed more information from a medical meeting later Monday to determine a weeklong plan for his quarterback to return.

"We’ll have to see how it goes," Reich said.

Reich told reporters following Sunday's game that Wentz "rolled his ankle up pretty good," adding "there was no chance" he could have returned to lead the Colts in the waning minutes. He finished the game completing 20 of 31 passes for 247 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He was on the sideline as backup quarterback Jacob Eason quarterbacked Indianapolis in its last two drives of the game.

On his first possession, Eason threw an interception to Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, seemingly ending the game.

Eason got another shot at leading the Colts to a comeback victory, but he finished the game completing just 2 of 5 passes for 15 yards and the interception.

This isn't the first time an injury has placed Wentz's status in the air this year. The former Eagles quarterback had a procedure to remove a bone in his foot on Aug. 2. He reportedly was expected to be sidelined up to 12 weeks.

Wentz ultimately started Week 1 against the Seahawks, against whom he completed 25 of 38 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns. He was sacked three times for a loss of 28 yards against Seattle and faced 10 quarterback hits. On Sunday, he was sacked three times for a loss of 27 yards, and faced 11 quarterback hits.
