David Beckham runs a tight ship.

The 39-year-old appeared on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" on Monday and revealed that the son of a world famous soccer star doesn't get off easy in his household.

Beckham told Corden that his son Brooklyn works at a London coffee shop for some pocket money so that he can afford all the sneakers he wants. Just forget that David signed a $160.8 million lifetime agreement with adidas in 2003 and ... wait, no, it still doesn't make sense.

To make matters even funnier, David admitted to tagging along on Brooklyn's first date, per Victoria's wishes. While he felt awkward doing it, he won't feel bad about keeping a close watch on his daughter, Harper, as she grows older.

All jokes aside, it's nice to see David, who was one of the wealthiest athletes in his heyday, teach his kids good lessons from the get-go.
