Who says you need to travel to get a taste of the world?
On April 11, D.C. United will host a "Transatlantic Food Exchange" day with its UK sister club, Sunderland AFC. Delicious food will be on display and a loaded prize package will be up for grabs.
As a part of the menu merge, fans at RFK Stadium will be treated to a British pub staple when the Red Bulls come to town: Steak and Ale pie with "chips" and beef gravy.
Across the pond, fans at Stadium of Light will be able to get their hands on a torn beef baguette with DC-style fries to give them a taste of the much-loved cheese steak during their home game against Crystal Palace FC.
“This cross-pond exchange program with D.C. United and Sunderland AFC is a great example of promoting and sharing hospitality through the strength of our global network,” Centerplate CEO Chris Verros said in a news release. “Our executive leadership and venue partners continually work together to provide unique, one-of-a-kind experiences, such as this, making it better to be there at events and connecting communities for guests and fans worldwide.”
Fans will also be able to enter a raffle to win merchandise, local food items and VIP tickets to future games. To be in the running, fans must purchase the tasty concoction being served at their respective stadium.
That sounds like a tasty deal to me.
