Following their 2-1 loss to Mexico in the CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinal in Atlanta, the Panama players gathered for a team photo.
But this was no ordinary locker room team photo. The players held a banner calling the organizing body a group of corrupt thieves.
Panama defender Adolfo Machado said CONCACAF got exactly "what they wanted" and can now celebrate.
"Now play the final and ... CONCACAF fill their pockets," he said in Spanish following the match.
Panama lost the match following several questionable calls made by U.S. referee Mark Geiger, who awarded Mexico the controversial penalty kick that allowed it to even the match in stoppage time. Mexico later scored on another penalty kick in extra time and held on for victory.
Panama manager Hernán "Bolillo" Gomez praised Mexico, but called the loss "a robbery."
